"Too Little Too Late" is a pop/R&B song written by Billy Steinberg, Josh Alexander, and Ruth-Anne Cunningham for JoJo's second studio album The High Road (2006). It was co-produced by Josh Alexander, Vincent Herbert, and Billy Steinberg. "Too Little Too Late" was released as the album's first single in North America on August 15, 2006 and in the UK on January 15, 2007. "Too Little Too Late" broke the record for the biggest jump into the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, going from number sixty-six to number three in one week. This record was previously held by Mariah Carey with her 2001 single "Loverboy" which went from number sixty to number two. However the record was broken on April 7, 2007 by Beyoncé and Shakira's "Beautiful Liar" which jumped from ninety-four to number three.
"Too Little Too Late" is a single from their 2000 album Maroon. The single included a remix of another single from Maroon, "Pinch Me". The song made it on their 2001 compilation, Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits, was written by Ed Robertson and Steven Page, and was sung by Page.
The music video, directed by Phil Harder, is about the stresses of making a music video, in which the director forces them to record and re-record the video several times. At the end of the video, the director calls for a cut, and asks to record it again, prompting Page to scream. The screaming is not actually Steven's voice. The actual video shoot was the band's longest, lasting three days. It was filmed in the middle of a string of radio station promotional appearances.
