The song was made as a bonus track on Adams compilation album "So Far So Good". It is Adams's only Australian #1 single not written for a motion picture.

"Please Forgive Me" was the first single released by David Gray from his fourth album, 1999's White Ladder. The 12" was released on November 22, 1999; the CD on December 5, 2000. On first release in November 1999 it reached #72 in the UK charts. A remixed version peaked at #18 a year later.
