On the Line is a 2001 American romantic comedy starring Lance Bass and Emmanuelle Chriqui. The film was directed by Eric Bross and was written by Eric Aronson and Paul Stanton (screenwriter), based upon their short film also entitled On The Line.
A young man (Bass) meets a girl (Chriqui) on a train, only to spend the rest of the movie trying to reunite with her (one of the love-at-first-sight things), aided by his best friend (Fatone) in a quest of posters and signs that soon gains public notice. Police officer Jean Martin experiences personal problems after many years in the sexual abuse department. Thus she demands to be transferred to the homicide/robbery department or she will quit the force. Her request is granted and while concluding her final case in the former department she gets involved in the investigation of a brutal teen gang of robbers.
