"No Such Thing" is the second single from Chris Cornell's second solo album, Carry On. The song is heavy in tone with a straightforward riff and chorus. It is the second release from the album Carry On, the first being the theme song to the latest James Bond motion picture, Casino Royale. An acoustic version of the song has been performed on various radio station studio performances.
The music video for the song can be watched on the chriscornell.com site. The video is rather dark and showcases very brutal encounters between youngsters.
"No Such Thing" is the first commercially released single by John Mayer from his first album, 2001's Room for Squares. Like many of the songs from Mayer's early musical career, the song was co-written with Clay Cook.
The song talks of the cynicism of parents towards their children pursuing careers in the entertaining industry, as Mayer himself encountered as a youth.
