"Never Too Late" is a pop-dance song written by British production team Stock, Aitken and Waterman for Kylie Minogue's second album Enjoy Yourself (1989). It was produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman. Released as the third single in the fall of 1989 (see 1989 in music) it was an instant top twenty hit in the United Kingdom, debuting at number seventeen due to the delayed release of the 12" single. The song quickly rose in the charts, peaking at number four. Its low debut broke Minogue's impressive run of seven consecutive top two hits, but became her eighth consecutive top five hit single.
The B Side, called "Kylie's Smiley Mix" was a continuous mix of her biggest hits from the Kylie album and the 12" version included these songs in sequence order: I'll Still Be Loving You, It's No Secret, Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi, Turn It Into Love, I Should Be So Lucky, Got to Be Certain and the whistle from the beginning of the 1988 mix of The Locomotion. The 7" mix contained the above tracks omitting I'll Still Be Loving You and It's No Secret.
In Australia the Heaven Scent Mix of "Made in heaven" was a real bonus which the UK fans would've preferred. A 7" and 12" version was produced, however, the track did become available but only on Japanese imports of "Kylie's Remixes". It made Aussie imports of Never too late quite a collectors item.
The music video, directed by Pete Cornish, was awarded the Logie for the "Most Popular Music Video" at the 32nd Annual TV week Logie Awards held in 1990 in Australia.
This single received fair promotion in the UK with a notable appearance on the Des O'Connor Show, but also Saturday morning telly.
It was stated in Kylie's 1999 Official book that this track was the favourite Kylie song of the late Aussie INXS Lead singer, and Kylie's former boyfriend, Michael Hutchence.
"Never Too Late" Is the third single from Three Days Grace off their second album One-X. It has received airplay at the Billy Talent tour and on several Canadian radio stations such as The Edge.
