Matthew Jason Bloom (born November 14 1974) is an American professional wrestler, currently wrestling for New Japan Pro Wrestling under the ring name Giant Bernard where he was one half of the IWGP Tag Team Champions with Travis Tomko and for the New Japan Pro Wrestling affiliate Wrestle Land under the ring name Rusher Road. Between 1997 and 2004, Bloom wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment under the ring names Prince Albert, Albert, and A-Train.
Bloom is perhaps best distinguished by his hirsute torso and 28 piercings, the first of which he received at the age of 14. (Wrestling critic Scott Keith once observed that Bloom resembled "a cross between a Kewpie doll and a Chia pet.")
Matt Bloom is a British television, commercials and short film director. In 2001 he was mentored by Moulin Rouge! director Baz Luhrmann. Shows he has directed include Heartbeat, Byker Grove and Footballers' Wives.
Matt Bloom is an award-winning film-maker from Manchester, England, and a graduate of the Newport Film School. Recent wins include Royal Television Society Best Drama award for film "On The Out". In 2001 he was mentored by Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann, and has recently directed TV & Cinema adverts, TV dramas & comedies, and award-winning short films. He puts profits from his work back into producing short films, often in the sci-fi, fantasy or comedy genre.
