Margaret Brennan is a General Assignment Reporter for CNBC. Brennan began her business news career at CNBC as a producer for financial news legend Louis Rukeyser. She wrote, researched and booked guests for the weekly "Louis Rukeyser’s Wall Street" program and primetime specials. Brennan later worked as a producer on "Street Signs with Ron Insana" for which she coordinated guest bookings and produced interviews with President George W. Bush., former Secretary of State Colin Powell and others.
Before joining CNBC, Brennan interned at CNN's International Newsdesk.
Margaret graduated with highest distinction from the University of Virginia. She received a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and was named an Emmerich-Wright scholar for an outstanding thesis. Brennan also received a B.A. in Middle East Studies with a minor in Arabic language. As a Fulbright-Hayes Scholar, Brennan studied Arabic at Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan.
In 2003, she was named one of the top journalists under the age of 30 by the NewsBios/TJFR Group.
Margaret Brennan, (1 July 1831 - 23 August 1887), born in Kingston, Ontario, Upper Canada, was known as Sister Teresa and became a member of Sisters of St Joseph in 1852. At that time, the order was just establishing itself in Upper Canada.
Sister Teresa helped lay the foundation of the Sisters of St Joseph in Ontario which spread to the western provinces and the Northwest Territories. The sisters still serve in the fields of education, health care, and social work.
