Land of the Lost (1974–1976) is a children's television series created and produced by Sid and Marty Krofft. During its original run, it was broadcast on the NBC television network. Land of the Lost was a half-hour Saturday-morning children's series that originally aired on ABC during the early 1990s. It lasted two seasons, and further popularized the now cult classic original, the latter of which is now available on DVD. A line of merchandise including action figures and a noise-making replica of Shung's crystal was released.
The Porter family, Tom, Kevin, and Annie get sucked into a prehistoric alternative world while taking a family vacation. The Porters build a tree house, hook up with a few locals, Tasha- orphaned, extra smart dinosaur, Stink-monkey man, and Christa-another human who has lived in the Land of the Lost since she was a little girl. The Porters must deal with living with dinosaurs and avoiding the evil advanced Sleestaks. Theere mom was long dead before they got there and there aren't any "early humanoids" there either. Rick Marshall is a park ranger who takes his two kids, Will and Holly, on a rafting trip down a river. During the trip, an earthquake occurs which somehow opens up a rift in time, propelling the Marshalls into a land populated by dinosaurs, ape-men, and the dreaded Sleestak. Later in the series, Rick manages to find his way home and is replaced by Uncle Jack (who had rafted down the same river looking for his family). Written by Afterburner
Widowed forest ranger Rick Marshall and his two children, Will and Holly, are enjoying a rafting trip when they accidentally fall over a waterfall. However, instead of being killed they somehow fall through a dimensional doorway into a closed universe populated by dinosaurs, ape men known as Pakune and a race of lizard like men known as Sleestacks. The Marshalls make the most of their time there as they try to find a way home for the next two years by using a monolithic chamber known as a pylon which acts as a doorway to other worlds. However, one day Rick tries to use one of them to try to get back home and disappears. However, Rick's brother Jack who has been searching for them lands in the Land of the Lost and joins his nephew and niece in trying to get back home. Written by Brian Washington
