L'Arc-en-Ciel is a popular Japanese rock band, formed in 1991. The group has sold over 15 million albums, 30 million singles, and millions of other units, such as videos. They were ranked at number 58, in a list of Japan's top 100 musicians, provided by HMV.

The band consists of vocalist Hyde, leader and bassist Tetsu, guitarist Ken, and drummer Yukihiro, who replaced drummer Sakura in 1997. All four members are established composers which adds to the variety in their songs. Their music ranges from ballads to hard rock to light pop-rock tunes.
