James began his career at Falkirk in 1993, making 48 appearances and scoring nine goals in his six years with the Bairns.
In 1999, James moved to one of his hometown clubs, Hearts, for whom he only made 14 appearances in two years. In 2001, he was loaned out to Morton and Airdrieonians. He joined the latter on a permanent basis later that year.
After only six months in Lanarkshire, James returned to his first club, Falkirk, with whom he went on to make over 50 appearances and scored six goals in three years.
James joined St. Johnstone just prior to the 2005/06 season. He scored his first goal for the club on October 15, 2005, in a 3-1 win over Brechin City at McDiarmid Park.
In April 2007, James was one of three St. Johnstone players named in the SPFA's Scottish Division One "Team of the Year", voted for by the managers.
Kevin James (born January 3, 1980 in Southwark) is a professional footballer currently playing for Crawley Town. He plays predominantly as a right-winger.
James was initially a Charlton trainee, but was released at the age of 20, joining Gillingham. Here he showed promise, and after four years he moved on to Nottingham Forest.
His time at Forest was not successful, however, and he made few appearances for the club. During his time there, he had loan spells with Boston United, Walsall, Yeovil Town, Grimsby Town and Swindon Town.
He was released in 2007 and subsequently joined Welling United for a couple of games before moving onto Woking. He played at Woking on non-contract terms, making 18 league appearances and 4 cup appearances (scoring 1 goal in the FA Trophy tie at Hemel Hempstead Town) before deciding to leave in January 2008 after failing to agree terms for the rest of the season.
On 16 January 2008, James joined Crawley Town until the end of 2007-08 season.
During his time at Charlton, Kevin won the Charlton Athletic Table Tennis trophy, beating Kevin Lisbie in the final.

Kevin was born April 26, 1965 to Janet and Joseph Valentine Knipfing. He attended Cortland University where he played fullback on the football team while majoring in sports management. He realized after 3 years that this wasn't the path for him. After returning home, he decided to go back home and to break up the monotony of the summer, he joined a community theater. During a play in which he had a comedic role, he so enjoyed the crowd reaction, that he joined his brother's (comedian Gary Valentine (I)) improv group. He began going to clubs with Gary and realized he, too, had the knack for comedy. He has performed standup up for about 11 years. It was on the comedy circuit that he met Ray Romano (I). While Ray was getting a big break with his own sitcom, Kevin was getting recognition on "Star Search" (1983). After appearing on "Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The" (1992), his big break came at the 1996 "Just for Laughs" Montreal Comedy Festival. Afterward he landed a recurring role on Ray's sitcom, "Everybody Loves Raymond" (1996). He has since received his own sitcom "King of Queens, The" (1998).
