June Brown (born 16 February 1927) is an English actress and presenter best known for her role as Dot Cotton in the British soap opera EastEnders.
Brown served in the Wrens (Royal Navy), and was classically trained at the Old Vic Drama School.

The actor Nigel Hawthorne described her as "one of the most beautiful creatures I've seen on stage" after seeing her performance as Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler". She has appeared as "Lady Macbeth" opposite Albert Finney and has directed "Double D" at the 1993 Edinburgh Festival.
