John H. Lynch (born November 25 1952, Waltham, Massachusetts) is the current Governor of New Hampshire.

John Lynch (born December 26, 1961, in Corrinshego, near Newry, County Armagh in Northern Ireland) is a Northern Irish actor. Born on December 26 in 1961, Lynch attended St Colman's College, Newry, an all-Catholic school.

Lynch has said that his family was not political but were "affected" by the Troubles. His mother is Italian, and he is the brother of British-based actress of films and TV, Susan Lynch. His other sister Pauline Lynch is also an actress, but works as an English and drama teacher in Saint Patrick's Grammar School, Downpatrick.

Lynch has appeared in numerous films related to Northern Ireland's problems, such as Cal, In the Name of the Father, The Railway Station Man, Nothing Personal and Some Mother's Son, as well as the Irish-themed film Evelyn, with Pierce Brosnan, Aidan Quinn and Julianna Margulies.

Lynch played George Best in the 1999 film Best, directed by his wife Mary McGuckian.

John Terrence Lynch (born September 25, 1971 in Hinsdale, Illinois) is an American football safety for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round (82nd overall) of the 1993 NFL Draft. He played college football at Stanford.

Lynch is a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and earned a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers in 2003 in their victory over the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII.

John Lynch, born July 8, 1946, in Sydney, Australia, is a linguist specializing in Oceanic languages. He is a retired professor and the former Director of the Pacific Languages Unit at the University of the South Pacific in Port Vila, Vanuatu. His areas of focus are languages of Vanuatu; history of languages of the Pacific; pidgin and creole languages; language change; dictionaries; orthography design. He is currently the editor of the journal Oceanic Linguistics.

John Lynch (10 April 1889 - 10 June 1957) was an Irish Fine Gael Party politician who was a one-term TD and then a Senator.

Lynch was elected to Dáil Éireann on his first attempt, at the 1951 general election, as a Fine Gael candidate in the Kerry North constituency taking his seat in the 14th Dáil.

At the 1954 general election, he lost his seat to the Clann na Poblachta candidate Johnny Connor, but was then elected to the 8th Seanad on the Industrial and Commercial Panel, where he served until 1957.

He stood again as a candidate for Dáil Éireann at the 1957 general election, but was unsuccessful. Clann na Poblachta had not put forward a candidate, and the seat was won by a Fianna Fáil candidate, Daniel Moloney. Lynch did not contest the subsequent election to the 9th Seanad, and died in June 1957.

John Lynch (November 1, 1843-August 17, 1910) was a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania.

John Lynch was born in Providence, Rhode Island. In 1856, he moved to Pennsylvania with his parents, who settled in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He attended the public schools and Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pennsylvania. He worked on a farm and in the coal mines and taught school. He studied law, was admitted to the bar November 1, 1868, and commenced practice in Wilkes-Barre.

Lynch was elected as a Democrat to the Fiftieth Congress. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1888. He resumed the practice of law in Wilkes-Barre, and served as judge of the court of common pleas from 1892 to 1910. He died in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 1910. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre.

John Lynch is a former Tyrone Gaelic footballer, and All Star winner, who played in Tyrone's first ever All-Ireland Final in 1986.

He also represented Ireland in an early rendition of the International Rules Series. He blames his subsequent sending off for instigating an unfair reputation as being a dirty player.

He played club football for his local town, Castlederg, but was very close to pursuing a career in athletics, until his girlfriend convinced him to pursue Gaelic football.

John Lynch is a Latin Americanist historian. He was born on January 11, 1927 in Boldon, in northern England. He married Wendy Kathleen Norman in 1960. Both are Catholic. They had 5 children.

Lynch studied at the University of Edinburgh (MA, 1952), and at the University of London (Ph.D., 1955). He served in the British Army after World War II from 1945-48. Subsequently he taught at the University of Liverpool (1954-61) and has been teaching at the University of London since 1961 (now Emeritus Professor of Latin American History). He was the director for the Institute of Latin American Studies at the University of London from 1974 until his retirement in 1987.

His work has changed over the years with a double shift of preference: from the River Plate area to Latin America as a whole; and from the 18th to the 19th centuries.

John Lynch (February 18, 1825 - July 21, 1892) was a nineteenth century politician, merchant, manufacturer and newspaper publisher from Maine.

Born in Portland, Maine, Lynch attended public schools as a child and graduated from Portland High School in 1842. He engaged in mercantile pursuits, was manager of the Portland Daily Press in 1862 and was a member of the Maine House of Representatives from 1862 to 1864. He was elected a Republican to the United States House of Representatives in 1864, serving from 1865 to 1873. There, Lynch served as chairman of the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of the Navy from 1869 to 1871 and of the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of the Treasury from 1871 to 1873. Afterwards, he permanently moved to Washington, D.C. where he established the Washington Daily Union in 1877 and engaged in the manufacturing of bricks and drain pipes. Lynch died while on a visit in Portland, Maine on July 21, 1892 and was interned in Evergreen Cemetery in Portland.
