Invasion is an American science fiction television series that aired on ABC for only one season beginning in September 2005 before it was cancelled. Somewhat similar to Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the show told the story of the aftermath of a hurricane in which water-based extraterrestrials infiltrate a small Florida town and begin to take over the bodies of the town's inhabitants through a cloning process (first by merging with and then unknowingly replacing them). The show was produced by Shaun Cassidy Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
Due to the Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the aftermath in the southern United States, early on-air promotions were quickly pulled by ABC. The advertising then switched emphasis completely to the alien invasion aspect of the series, while the hurricane received no mention. The premiere was also preceded with a warning that the show featured images of a fictional hurricane that viewers could be sensitive to.
Invasion (sometimes typeset InVasion or alternatively billed as InVasion: WCW/ECW vs. WWF ) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It took place on July 22 2001 at the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
Invasion was the first pay-per-view to feature the ongoing Invasion storyline, which featured wrestlers from the WWF taking on a combined force of alumni from World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) later known as The Alliance. The official theme song was "The Fight Song" by Marilyn Manson.
The main event, dubbed the "Inaugural Brawl", was a five-on-five tag team match pitting the WWF team of Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and Kane against the WCW/ECW team of Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page, Rhyno and the Dudley Boyz.
Invasion is a TV film based on Robin Cook's book Invasion. It starred Luke Perry, Kim Cattrall, and Rebecca Gayheart.
The Invasion, previously known as Invasion and The Visiting, is a 2007 science fiction film based on a screenplay by Dave Kajganich, a remake of the 1956 film, Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Initially directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig as leads, Warner Bros. Pictures later hired James McTeigue to shoot scenes rewritten by the Wachowski brothers. The Invasion was released on August 17 2007 in the United States, and was both a box office and critical failure, earning $39,801,733 worldwide against a $65 million budget and garnering a 19% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Writer Holmes, Robert (II) later reused elements of this story in the first Pertwee, Jon "Doctor Who" story, "Spearhead from Space." Like this film, it was initially set in a remote English cottage hospital complete with a mysterious and unconscious alien stranger, puzzled doctors, an army patrol, and lurking alien forces in the nearby woods.
In a battle for pro wrestling supremecy between the WWF and the WCW/ECW Alliance, The WWF team of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and Kane battle The WCW/ECW team of Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page, The Dudley Boyz and Rhyno.
