"Beautiful Liar" is a song recorded by American R&B singer Beyoncé and Colombian Latin pop singer Shakira. The song was written by Beyoncé, Amanda Ghost, Ian Dench, and Stargate members Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen and produced by Stargate and Beyoncé for the re-release of her B'Day album. A Spanish and English mixed version of the song was produced called "Bello Embustero".
The song was the first single released from the deluxe edition. It holds the distinction of having the largest upward movement on the Billboard Hot 100, moving ninety-one positions from number ninety-four to number three the week of April 7 2007. The track won an MTV Video Music Award in 2007 for the newly-added category of Most Earth-Shattering Collaboration, and the Spanish version of the song was nominated for the 8th Annual _Latin Grammy Award in 2007 for Record of the Year, but lost to Juan Luis Guerra's La Llave de mi Corazón. It was also nominated for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals in the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The previous year, Shakira was nominated for this award with "Hips Don't Lie" featuring Wyclef Jean.
